Use Lee Court Records Inquiry for Florida cases. The portal FAQ explains why a docket entry and a downloadable document may differ.
| What the Florida docket shows | What to do with it |
|---|---|
| A microfilm reference | Order the document through the clerk’s Records Request Tracking System. Scanning began in the early 2000s, so older documents may lack electronic images. |
| An informational event | Not every docket entry corresponds to a filed document. Identify the actual filing needed before ordering copies. |
| Viewable on Request (VOR) | Follow the case-detail instructions to request manual redaction. The stated target is 2–5 business days, with longer processing possible for large or sensitive documents. |
The FAQ requires a notarized registration form for these roles. A party seeking increased access must submit each case for clerk review; an ordinary login does not itself grant unrestricted access.
Remote viewing has no access fee. Certified copies can be requested through the portal and may incur charges. Identify whether the recipient needs certification before choosing the output.
Use the Lee County judicial directory to reach the North Carolina courthouse and local contacts. The judiciary provides different routes for reading a case and obtaining a certified criminal search.
| North Carolina purpose | Required route | Result or limitation |
|---|---|---|
| View a case or obtain a paper filing | Search Portal for case information; ask the clerk in the county holding the case for paper files and copies. | The court-records guide says copies carry a fee. Public courthouse terminals provide another search route. |
| Certified Lee County background check | Submit AOC-CR-314 and $25 to the Clerk of Superior Court. | The background-check guide limits this search to one county. By mail, use a money order or certified check, not a personal check. |
| Self-service court-record background search | Use public access computers at a courthouse clerk’s office. | Searching is free and not certified; printing may cost extra. The judiciary directs people performing background checks to the clerk’s office rather than Portal. |
